Day-by-day itinerary

1. 1

   Day 1: Arrive in Skardu

   Briefing, gear check and permit formalities.

2. 2

   Day 2: Drive to Askole

   Jeep journey through the Shigar and Braldu valleys.

3. 3

   Day 3: Trek to Jhola

   Begin the trek along the Braldu river.

4. 4

   Day 4: Trek to Paiju

   Reach Paiju, the last green campsite before the glacier.

   Day 5: Rest and acclimatisation

   Acclimatisation day at Paiju.

6. 6

   Day 6: Onto the Baltoro

   Walk onto the Baltoro Glacier towards Khoburtse and Urdukas.

7. 7

   Day 7: Goro II

   Glacier trekking with views of the Trango Towers and Masherbrum.

8. 8

   Day 8: Concordia

   Arrive at Concordia with K2 rising at the head of the Godwin-Austen glacier.

   Day 9: K2 Base Camp

   Day trek to K2 Base Camp and the Gilkey Memorial.

10. 10

    Day 10: Contingency day

    Buffer for weather at Concordia.

11. 11

    Day 11: Begin descent

    Return along the Baltoro to Goro II.

    Day 12: Urdukas

    Trek back to Urdukas.

13. 13

    Day 13: Paiju

    Leave the glacier and return to Paiju.

14. 14

    Day 14: Jhola

    Trek to Jhola.

15. 15

    Day 15: Askole

    Final trekking day to Askole.

16. 16

    Day 16: Drive to Skardu

    Jeep back to Skardu and celebrate.

    Day 17: Skardu

    Rest day and debriefing.

    Day 18: Departure

    Fly or drive onwards.
